Build. Explore. Repeat.

A home for curious experiments and real products.

We dream up, build, and ship software. Some projects become products. Others become open standards. All of them start with a good question.

The thinking behind the lab

What happens after AI becomes a feature?

What if we stopped asking how to add AI to our products — and started building products for AI to use? That's the question behind the Gorilla Scale, and Confused Gorilla Labs.

A little about the lab

Curiosity is the starting point.

Confused Gorilla Labs is the research and development arm of the Confused Gorilla Institute. We turn interesting questions about AI into experiments, research tools, open standards, and useful products.

The Institute asks the hard questions and examines the evidence. Labs builds the software and instruments that help investigate them—while preserving independent scrutiny of what we make.

Some experiments stick. Some lead to the next question. That's part of the fun.
